Nightstrike's Reviews: Louie's

Heading up to the North Shore of Long Island, we found ourselves in need of nourishment. Port Washington, NY, is home to idyllic shorefront scenery and a wide array of restaurants. Searching for lighter fare, we came upon a restaurant called Louie's. Now I know that Louie's is, by default, not a gluten-free restaurant, but I put GF because I had gluten-free food.
First off, would be the excellent Caesar salad. Yes, caesar salads are common, but this one was just so good! A kale and romaine base, with a tart lemon-herb caesar dressing paired nicely with grilled chicken. What (literally)topped it off, was the massive parmigiana chip resting on it. A simply delicious meal so far, yes?

Next up, were the Parmesan Truffle Fries , which unlike many, were not salt-licks. Doused in a generous coating of truffle oil, these were crisp and fresh with a good ratio of fry to parm.

My dinner companion, a veritable seafood addict, dove into lobster bisque and declared it delicious. An order of the Long Island Littleneck clams disappeared just as quickly...fresh as can be, and not the least bit chewy! Last but not least (or maybe so) came the chilled shrimp cocktail whose presentation didn't stand up to the texture, decidedly overcooked and somewhat tough to chew through.
