Nightstrike's Reviews: MFT Sixshot

Now, for the most part, I stick to official items. Occasionally, I dip into 3rd party offerings, like with Iron Factory.

Sixshot, here, is an absolutely worthy exception.

While I didn't care much for Iron Factory's take, on account of its size, MFT made a knockoff of that design, upscaled to a heft similar to that of Earthrise Airwave, so he fits in quite nicely as an IDW-ish design among other Legends-scaled figures. He retains his engineering from the source mold, but is essentially upscaled fully. A bit reminiscent of Combiner Wars, but not in a bad way. He's dynamic, and his joints retain good mobility.

Robot Mode

A rather distinctive affair, Sixshot has always had a bit of a visual presence. Though varied between appearances, he's always somewhere between turquoise and periwinkle, a soft color given a decidedly sinister vibe when paired with the sickly white used for his head. His chest wings can be swept aside as traditional, or folded in as a sort of "scarf," though it doesn't look as good due to the angle.

Sixshot comes with 6 additional accessories, 4 of which he can use in robot mode. As this is a standard upscaled KO, they are not compatible with standard 5mm grips. That being said, they're absolutely fitting for him because he's his own class of a bruiser.

...Every Other Mode

I'm not going to run through all of them because we'd be here all day, but the other two accessories are meant for this guy's tank mode, but can sort of be worked into blaster mode as well.

Wolf mode is probably the second weakest, but can by stylistically improved by throwing the swords back on the hips.

The only mode that could really use some work is 'armored car' mode, but it never had much going for it to begin with, so it's not much of an issue.

Tank mode's fun, and jet mode gives off goblin glider vibes. Gun mode? A thing, I guess. Maybe Devastator can wield him.

Overall

Honestly? I know it's a KO, but it's well done. Paint's crisp, joints are tight, and it holds together nicely. Just be wary of the side grills on the legs, as they can pop off, and are tricky to get back on. The neck, as with other Iron Factory designs, is ball-jointed, thus increasing the expressiveness of the design quite well.

Final Rating: 4.5/5
