Nightstrike's Reviews: Atlantis Rising / Atlantis In Peril / Atlantis Lost

Atlantis Rising, along with the other books listed in the title are by T. A. Barron. Does that name sound familiar to you? It should! I reviewed another book by T. A. Barron: The Lost Years of Merlin. This book, if you have no powers of inference, is about the rise and fall of Atlantis, a mystical island full of magic.

Unfortunately, I have to make this review short, because of current projects. However, that doesn't prevent me from throwing in a few spoilers...

The Atlantis trilogy focuses on the life and times of Promi, a young thief who has no reccollection of his past, save for part of a song, and a mark on his chest resembling a bird in flight. He has incredible skills, both as a thief, and as a knife thrower. However, after he makes one mistake at putting an end to Grukkar's(priest who abuses citizens) tyranny, he finds himself entangled in an adventure. Later on in the series, he discoveries he is an immortal, and that his full name is Prometheus. To save Ellegandia from an invading army, he uses an immense amount of magic to separate it from Africa, naming the new island after a girl he met (Atlanta) and thus, Atlantis is born. I'm sorry if this review dissapointed you, but I haven't had too much time to review.

Overall, I'd rate this series a 4.5 out of 5, as something that most authors do in fiction, occurs here. The reactions of a character are exxagerated, making them seem a tad bit naïve.
