Nightstrike's Reviews: Dark Eden

Let me start by saying that Dark Eden had me confused. I'm not counting this on the overall score, but I feel like a little explanations as to what the characters had gone through before this book, would've helped. Other than this, the book was great, and I was excited to find out that this will be a series. This book is great for people looking for something different, as it definitely draws readers in. Normally, I would give my recommendation at the end. However, like Dark Eden, this review will be full of twists and turns . . .

Now that I've got the recommendation out of the way, let us begin at the end. The ending was quite a twist, with those closest to the main character, turning on him. As for the cure to his fear, I found it shocking that Rainsford could have predicted his actions perfectly. And I don't scare so easily. I could visualize the cannibalized headphones slicing behind his ears, leaving no tendon undamaged. If you like books and shows with a lot of what I just described (Spoiler: Of course I do, I just recommended this book to you!), then Dark Eden is the book for you! Dark Eden had me simultaneously wanting to close the book, and read on to see what happens next.

Overall, this book is a great combination of dystopian fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, and some humor(though not enough to lighten the mood.). I've decided to give this book a solid 4 out of 5, and I hope the second book is just as great! So, go on! Read it!
