Charlatans, by Robin Cook, is another novel following a similar formula, but the approach taken makes it seem vastly different. Since this book is highly dependent on the subtler details, I'll keep this review short. I honestly don't see much of a way to give a synopsis without giving too much away.
The book begins with Noah Rothauser, a medical resident, bearing witness to a patient flatlining. Essentially living at the hospital, his actual home is sparse, with only a few assorted things, due to his own dedication to work. When patients start dying after routine procedures, though, he begins to question who really is responsible, and finds quite a few of his colleagues are against him and his lines of questioning.
In a few spots, the dialogue was a little overdone, and didn't feel particularly natural, but as a whole this book was interesting to read, and again, the twist was a shock.
