The first of a two-part review I'm doing, this book was actually quite interesting. This one falls more into the sci-fi category, seeing as it contains the usual stuff one associates with said category (i.e. spaceships, futuristic things, etc.) But, I'm sure you can figure out this stuff once you read it.
Warning: Spoiler-Heavy Ahead!
Let's start with the characters. Jethro Seagrave (one heck of a name), is the leader of a crew of thieves working for Hammer, a crime-boss. Jeth has been working to get back his parent's ship for years now, ever since they supposedly died, and his uncle (Milton) gambled it away. He finally gains the opportunity to do so when they are sent into a "no-fly zone" called the Belgrave, but what he finds, and what he was expecting to find are more different than he imagined.
I enjoy a book that shows how no character is perfect. It helps the story itself. Not only was Jeth on the run from Hammer, but he also was doing his best to avoid the ITA, an organization that has control over most of the galaxy. The characters themselves are well-written, and I couldn't help but read the next (and final) book of the series instead of my current reading list...
Final Rating: 4.6 out of 5...
Stay tuned for new updates to the site, soon!
