You've definitely heard of this one. If you haven't heard of the popular Percy Jackson series, either the films or the books, then you really need to get out more. This series is one of the most famous book series currently available in the US. Given the popularity of this series, I don't really need to provide a spoiler warning for you. (Also, scroll past the notes, for the news on Project Doublespy)
This book in particular starts off an interesting, and somewhat funny "saga," focusing on Percy Jackson, the demigod son of Poseidon, and his friends Grover(comedic Satyr), and Annabeth(Demigod, and daughter of Athena). By default, this falls more into the fantasy category, than anything else, since it's based off of Greek mythology.
As you know, I don't usually go for the overly well-known novels, but this was an exception, since it was in my collection for a while, and I had finished some other books. Right away, if you've read the book and watched the corresponding movie, you'll notice a few discrepancies. In the books, Percy is a middle-schooler, while in the movie, he's a high-schooler. The age changes were probably a necessity given the lack of actors that match the book's description. However, this book is a MUST, if you want to watch the movies.
Final Rating: 4.5 out of 5...
